Production of Erythroid Precursor Cells (BFU) ,,Morphologically recognizable erythroid cells are absent. However, since . colony assay systems are available that permit the study of erythroid progenitors, it was of interest to determine whether such precursor cells are present in the cultures, and if so, at what stage erythropoiesis was halted.
