Anselm Versus Abelard,y accusations of heresy from the many enemies he had made in a meteoric career, in which he came from nowhere to be regarded as the foremost logician of his times. He was apparently one of those aggressive folk who cannot control their urge to show how much cleverer they are than everybody else.

William of Ockham Versus Duns Scotus,The imaginary dialogue between Anselm and Abelard is set at the beginning of the scholastic period, which is nowadays often dismissed as an era in which rival medieval theologians disputed how many angels can dance on the end of a pin. The current imaginary dialogue comes at the end of the scholastic period.
