A Note on Evaluation of Image Recognition Systems that recognize linear structures. We illustrate the latter using road and lines-of-communication recognition systems. We describe past work on evaluation systems and compare their strengths and weaknesses relative to the current work.

Dense Stereomatching Algorithm Performance for View Prediction and Structure Reconstructionf error statistics. The errors are focused on basic matching failure mechanisms and their definition observes the principles of independence, symmetry and completeness. A ground truth experiment shows that the best choice for view prediction is the Graph Cuts algorithm and for structure reconstruction it is the Confidently Stable Matching.

Robust Curve Detection Using a Radon Transform in Orientation SpaceRadon transform. The orientation space representation can represent multiple intersecting structures and contains local orientation information.
