When at least one of the phases deforms plastically, its local properties depend on the deformation history. This creates a major obstacle in evaluation of local fields. They also depend on the deformation history and so does the relationship between the stress and strain averages.

Self-Consistent Modelling of Elastic-Viscoplastic Multiphase Materialsn can be specified for the case of rate-dependent elastic-plastic polycrystals and the classically associated constitutive equations. It is shown that the merits of the proposed formulation are saved at the expense of limited complication. A simple application is given as an illustration of the tractability of the method.

On Strain-Rate Sensitivity of Metal Matrices Reinforced with Ceramic Particlesent and strain rate sensitivity of the matrix. A simple constitutive expression is obtained which allows one to predict readily the rate-dependent plastic flow behavior of the composite. Comparison between the model predictions and experimental measurements for the strain rate dependence of an A1/A1.O. composite shows good agreement.

Pseudoplasticity of Fibrous Composite Materials: Inelastic Response of Laminates with Interfacial Deply. Finally, transformation strain analysis of a laminated plate is developed for derivation of governing equations for incremental evaluation of the local fields along a given overall loading path. Applications indicate that the decohesion process may generate overall response similar to that of an elastic-plastic laminate.
