The Extragalactic Background and Its Fluctuations in the Far-Infrared Wavelengthsations, we have used the FIRBACK observations. FIRBACK is a deep cosmological survey conducted at 170μm with ISOPHOT [.]. We show that the emission of unresolved extra-galactic sources clearly dominates, at arc-minute scales, the background fluctuations in the lowest galactic emission regions. This is the first detection of the CFIRB fluctuations.

Near Infrared Extragalactic Backgroundn foreground emission components. 2- point correlation analysis indicates that the fluctuation has a characteristic spatial frequencyat 1 ∼ 2 × 10. arcmin. A Local Infrared Perspective to Deeper ISO Surveyssing longer wavelength IRAS colour criteria and produce complete 12 μm samples of galaxies and stars. The Star Formation History of the Universeound in an Ω. = 1 universe, but this model fails to account for even the lowest estimates of the 140–350 μm background by a factor of 2. Either the observed values are overestimated or we need a new population of submm sources. The problem is eased in a . = 0, Ωo = 0.3 or . = 0.7, Ωo = 0.3 universe.
