Regularization properties for minimal geodesics of a potential energy, of the energy among all paths joining two endpoints..We show that our energy, though only based on a potential integration along the curve, has a regularization effect like snakes. We show a relation between the maximum curvature along the resulting contour and the potential generated from the image.

A numerical model for large deformation on meteorological images,at may be viewed as an approximation of the true physical deformation: we are reconstructing the surface generated by the evolution of the boundary of the structure. We present a stable numerical implementation of this model and apply it to the tracking of a vortex on a sequence of meteorological images.

Multiwavelets and two-scale similarity transform,. In this paper we study properties of the TST and show how it is connected with the theory of multiwavelets. This approach leads us to new results on regularity, symmetry and orthogonality of multi-scaling functions and opens an easy way to their construction.

An algorithm for generating motion by mean curvature,pidly decaying solution transients. Efficiency improvements, not possible with the original algorithm, are also made using extrapolation..Results for several numerical experiments in two and three dimensions are also given. These demonstrate that the new algorithm is often more than 1000 times faster than the original implementation.
