Summary, conclusions and prospects for the future,My studies on ‘hospital at home’ have led me to conclude need for radical NHS reorganisation before reforms can be introduced which could offer consumers optimum benefits from nationalised health care. This reorganisation would have to cover arrangements for the prevention of illness as well as for its cure.

Overseas experiments in the home care of the sick,r there is anything which can be usefully learned from overseas health experience and introduced to the NHS without undermining concepts which have proved to be of inestimable benefit to the British people over nearly four decades.
