The Classification of Hilbert Modular Surfaces,is more natural for Hilbert modular surfaces, but by using the first one the standard theory of algebraic surfaces becomes available. Since the difference . of . . . . (log.)) and . . . . . is relatively small if the volume . .is big one expects in general that the two classes behave similarly.

Book 1988he geometry of Hilbert modular surfaces, both geometric and arithmetic aspects are treated. An abundance of examples - in fact a whole chapter - completes this competent presentation of the subject. This .Ergebnisbericht. will soon become an indispensible tool for graduate students and researchers in this field.

Examples of Hilbert Modular Surfaces,As an illustration of the previous chapters we now give examples. Reading this chapter will resemble a visit to a zoological garden: each of the surfaces presented here is a world in itself that can be explored as far as one wishes, either for its own peculiarities or to test general principles.

and suffer from indeterminacy. In order to improve this situation, we split the image synthesis task into separate parts with predicting the layout of the scene as one of these tasks. We believe that it could be started with the background, which is usually determined by the location of the scene. G
