Thermodynamics of the Stars,is more specialised sense we consider changes in the state of a system. But the changes are always “slow”—adiabatic in the sense customary in dynamics. The changes are rather linear continua of equilibrium states. Catastrophic changes are only studied in their after-effects, not in their own details of occurrence.
