Third Order Nonlinear Integrated Devices,We describe all-optical integrated devices based on intensity dependent effects. The most relevant concepts in nonlinear waveguiding are reviewed within the perturbative regime where coupled-mode theory is applicable. Issues related to the departures of real materials from the ideal Kerr case are also addressed.
