Training and Career Development Grants,e must keep in mind that the purpose of such grants is supporting the candidate’s . rather than the actual research results. Indeed, if NIH wanted the most scientific knowledge for its grant money, then it would make more sense to award all grants to senior investigators who have a proven track record of productivity.
