Microbial Survival in the Environmentnatorial perspective (where only a combinatorial embedding of the graph is specified) and the geometric perspective (where the graph is embedded in the plane, vertices are points and edges are straight-line segments).We highlight some of the techniques used to prove the main results and mention a few of the challenges remaining in this area.

Graph Drawing by Classical Multidimensional Scaling: New Perspectivesuts for some classes of graphs..We want to challenge this belief by demonstrating that the method can be flexibly adapted to provide focus+context layouts. Moreover, we propose an alternative instantiation that appears to be more suitable for graph drawing and prevents certain degeneracies.
