Conclusion, Researching for this book was a revelation to me. I had not guessed at the size, extent and range of Gothic tourism. I had not expected to find a Gothic that was so respectable and so family friendly — a Gothic that might be associated (as at Showzam!) with civic regeneration, and could even (as at Glastonbury) be enlisted to help save the world.
