Elementary Theory of Semiconductors,y in deserts. This chapter will therefore attempt to concentrate upon the ongoing development of ideas. The aim is not to be exhaustive or comprehensive, but by focusing on a limited number of underlying themes it hopefully questions some traditionally held views and could stimulate future research.
