The Ruler,thes apart to get a thread to pull taut is of theoretical interest but is not the most practical approach. Although reflections will not play the major role here that they did in the last chapter, the idea of a reflection does provide the construction of a straightedge. You have only to fold a sheet of paper; the crease forms a straightedge.
