Gender Justice in Transition: Gendered Agency in War and Peace,r constrained in relation to peacebuilding interventions. In contrast to essentialist portrayals of women as passive victims of war or heroic peacebuilders, women are conceptualised as gendered agents who deploy different modes and degrees of agency.
