Despite the problems, there was still time for levity and reflections on life back home.

Afterwards,all would fly those missions. As with Gemini 4 which proceeded it and Gemini 7 which followed, Gemini 5 was another step towards attaining long duration human spaceflight, one that also clearly provided much needed confidence that President Kennedy‘s lunar goal was within reach.
