Oxidic Semiconductor Gas Sensors,Surface reactions of gases on oxidic semiconductors which are relevant for the electrical response are reported. The role of adsorbed and of lattice oxygen is explicitly discussed. The interplay between additives, e.g. noble metals, and the oxidic substrate is demonstrated. Results from single crystals, thin films and sintered layers are compared.
