Organ destructive effect of the light chains. Myeloma kidney,Apart from infections, renal insufficiency is the most frequent cause of death in patients with monoclonal gammopathy (5, 8, 23, 87). Renal destruction develops very slowly, whereas the main disease still remains “lsymptom free”. Explanation of both clinical findings and their relationship is discussed.
