A Hydrodynamic Explanation for the Anomalous Resistance of Exploding Wiresonducting environments with densities of 1 and 2 g/cm.. The resistance vs energy curve was affected by the greater confinement of these environments in the same way as by faster rates of energy input. It is proposed that inertial confinement of the wire may account for the resistance anomaly.

Calorimetric Calibration of the Electrical Energy Measurement in an Exploding Wire Experiment by comparing the calorimetric heating of a resistance element of essentially constant resistance with the electrical energy dissipated in the element. Results show that the accuracy of the energy measurement is about 1–2%.

Lines, Bars, and Scatter Plots, urpose of this work to indicate methods of producing sufficient amounts of x radiation needed for study of these processes, to deduce some of the characteristics of the emitted radiation, and to relate them to the electrical characteristics of the exploding conductors.

Setting Up RSpec and FactoryBot,on of shock wave energy and the efficiency for shock productio1n in air over a range of pressures, wire diameters, and stored electrical energy are presented. Relative to optical methods used in the same problem the present technique is more sensitive and perhaps more precise.
