Radiation-Induced Alterations in Cyclooxygenase Product Release: An Overview,platelet aggregatory (TXA2, PGG2 and PGH2) (10–14) and anti-aggregatory properties (PGE2 and PGI2) (15–18) may play a role in radiation-induced tissue injury. This hypothesis is based on the observation that radiation exposure results in tissue injury (19–35) and tissue injury is associated with the release of cyclooxygenase products (36–39).
