Performance and Scalability Improvement of GMM Background Segmentation Algorithm on Multi-core Parallel Platformst the background model as well as by merging computational loops to ensure contiguous memory access. The performance evaluation on a 16-cores Intel node showed that high performance and scalability are achieved even when high image resolutions are used.
