Collagen Changes in Dupuytren’s DiseaseThe major biochemical characteristic of Dupuytren’s disease (DD) is the progressive and irreversible deposition of excess fibrous collagen. This proliferation of collagen certainly impairs normal function, but in some as yet unknown way it also provides the disease with its characteristic clinical feature, flexure of the fingers.

Reactivity of Cells in Nodules of Dupuytren’s Contracture with Monoclonal Antibodies Recognizing LeuIn populations of Scandinavian or Celtic origin Dupuytren’s contracture belongs to the most frequent disorders of connective tissue (Hill 1985). The most significant symptoms of this disease are the development of nodules in the palmar aponeurosis and progressive irreversible contractures involving one or more fingers (Luck 1959: McFarlane 1983).

Abiotically Induced Wood Characteristicstron microscopic appearance of Dupuytren’s contracture has been frequently described (MacCallum and Hueston 1962; Bazin et al. 1980; Millesi 1985; Néezelof 1985; Gabbiani and Majno 1972; Gokel and Hübner 1977; Iwasaki et al. 1984; Kischer and Speer 1984; Tomasek et al. 1987), little attention has be

Biotically Induced Wood Characteristics . This hypothesis was bolstered by Menzel et al. , who demonstrated the presence of circulating antibodies to collagen (ACA) in DC patients. These results were confirmed by Pereira et al. , showing a whole spectrum of autoantibodies to different collagen types in these patients. The mere d
