Achieving Interoperability between CORBA and DCE Applications Using BridgesThis paper identifies a new heterogeneity — the heterogeneity of middleware platforms. To overcome the interoperability problem caused by this heterogeneity we present an application-level approach — bridges. Various kinds of bridges are identified, designed and discussed. A proof of concept is given by a case study.

A Framework for Inter-ORB Request Level Bridge Constructionpproach whose architecture is easily extendable to more sophisticated in parallelizing level and functionality units. A problem of mapping objects defined in CORBA model is described and a few suggestions to deal with it are presented. As a case study implementation of the bridge for Orbix and DOME is described.
