A logical framework for multi-agent systems and joint attitudes,and .. We explore various issues arising from the BDI specification of systems of agents and illustrate how our framework can be used to specify bottom-level agent behaviour via the specification of top-level intentions, or to reason about complex “emergent behaviour” by specifying the relationship between simple interacting agents.

A methodology for developing agent based systems,the engineering of agent based systems. The methodology is based upon the IDEF (ICAM Definition) approach for workflow modeling and the use case driven approach to object oriented software engineering. The methodology is illustrated via a case study in the area of discrete parts manufacturing.
