While not a pure cause and effect relationship, it seems that the rules and procedures gradually lost focus on the users’ needs/wants/expectations and their welfare. There also has been a loss in honesty, mostly due to competition.

UX and Society,juggernaut rife with too much business-first thinking, assumption, haste, and misunderstanding. It is up to us to adjust designs according to a mix of users’ needs and wants and what we, through our experience, know will not harm them, not bore them, and last longer than trends.

Where are the definitions? Who does what? Why is this so complicated?
