Assessment of Some Models for LES without/with Explicit Filtering,er with some models. Of particular interest are models that behave as viscosity at low . and higher order viscosity at high .. The spectral behavior of the models is investigated numerically, in 48. LES of decaying isotropic turbulence (started from 256. DNS). Two diagnostics are used: model dissipation spectrum and obtained energy spectrum.

Nondestructive Inspection (NDI)o different Reynolds numbers are conducted. Results for both simulations are in good agreement with filtered DNS data. A significant improvement is shown compared to simulations with no model at the same low resolutions as the LES. The computational cost of the incremental method is similar to that of a Galerkin approximation on the same grid.

DNS of Turbulent Supersonic Channel Flow,fects of compressibility are analysed based on the Reynolds stress budgets and comparisons with their incompressible counterparts. DNS data of turbulent supersonic channel flow along permeable walls at . 1.5 and . 3000 are used to analyze in which way wall permeability modifies the turbulence structure of the flow.
