The European Elections Information Programmes in the Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germanyng in activities of a propaganda nature concerning the elections. Although the EC’s institutions originally intended to mount their own information programmes, these were merged with that of the National Committee.

As the European elections were little more than a series of loosely co-ordinated, more or less simultaneous national elections, comparing them with national and local elections is analytically and comparatively apposite..
