Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity of Dioxins and Other Ah Receptor Agonists,genated aromatic hydrocarbons exhibit signs of toxicity similar to those of adult monkeys exposed only to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD).. Thus, the signs of toxicity in human infants appear to be more similar to those that occur in adult monkeys than they are to those that have been most commonly reported in adult humans.

In this chapter we broaden the review to include a discussion of the behavioral effects of exposure as well as contributions that coplanar PCBs, dioxins (PCDDs), and di-benzofurans (PCDFs) make to the overall neurotoxic risk to humans from exposure to complex environmental mixtures.
