Fuzzy Logic in Intelligent System Designts. They selected an AVR family of 8-bit microcontroller (MCU or µC) devices from Atmel and designed a self-contained circuit board with easy-to-use connections, wrote bootloader firmware for the microcontroller, and integrated it all into a simple development environment that used programs called “sketches.” The result was Arduino.
