Descent with Modification,g, fitness and selection. These concepts are discussed, as a set-up for the next chapter, where they will be transferred towards thinking about how they can apply in the social world as much as the biological one. Finally, there is a discussion of memes and the question of whether social evolutionary theories require an analogue with genes.
