A Study of the Reaction Mechanism for 12C Plus 209Bi at E(C) = 61.1-73 MeVon barrier of about 6.3 MeV is indicated for .Ac from a statistical-model analysis of the evaporation-residue excitation function. It is possible to account for the total reaction cross section obtained from the optical-model analysis of the elastic data by the measured reaction channels.
