Roth, Shaw, and Green observed that lambda waves were readily apparent when K-complexes, which appear from the brain during sleep, were present.

Electroencephalographic and Galvanic-Skin Investigation of the Orienting Reflex in Man,een examined systematically. In the classical studies, the motor components (eye movements, head movements, etc.), respiratory and other vegetative components of the orienting reflex were principally studied; other components of the orienting reflex, however, were studied very little.
