Since that time the editor is advised that a new Constitution has been adopted. Unfortunately it has not been possible up to the time of our going to press to obtain a copy of it.

BurmaThe Union of Burma was admitted to membership in the United Nations on April 19, 1948. It is a party to the Statute of the International Court of Justice, but is not, as of the time of our going to press, subject to compulsory jurisdiction under Article 36 of its Statute.. It is a member of the Postal Union and other international organizations..
