Robot control methods using the RAID workstation,s have to be studied..Therefore, user trials have been carried out on the RAID workstation (Robot to Assist the Integration of the Disabled) at the Rehabcentrum Lund-Orup in Höör, Sweden, see fig. 1. This paper will describe the control methods used in these trials as well as the results of the trials.

The philosophy of shared control has important implications for the design of these components. Screen reader for Windows based on speech output,A so-called “screen reader”, enabling blind persons to access the Windows environment, is presented and discussed. It is based on synthetic speech used to present information related to the graphic user interface and organized into a database. Some remarks will be made concerning the comparison between Braille and speech presentation.
