Planar Fluorescence Imaging: Basic Concepts for Scalar and Velocity Measurements,l measurements of species concentration (or mole fraction), temperature and velocity in combustion gases. Technological considerations relevant to low-light-level fluorescence imaging are also discussed. Included are examples of species, temperature and velocity imaging, based on some of the described strategies.

A New Technique for 3D Instantaneous Velocity Measurements, with Special Emphasis on Combustion, holographic recording of a seeded flow and nonlinear optical processing of the holographically recorded information, to produce interference fringes representing the 3-D velocity vector at a selected point of the flowfield. Special emphasis is given on the adaptation of the technique to peculiarities pertinent to combustion-related problems.
