Apple ACC Oxidase: Purification and Characterization of the Enzyme and Cloning of Its cDNAe migrated as a simple band of 35 kDa on SDS-PAGE and of 39 kDa on gel filtration. The enzyme activity, as ., required CO./HCO..; CO. being the active species. The purified enzyme displayed absolute requirement for Fe. and ascorbate. Biochemical and Molecular Characterization of Ethylene Forming Enzyme from Avocadopane-l-carboxylic acid (ACC). EFE extracted from avocado fruit was partially purified and shown to be a soluble, Fe(II) ascorbate-dependent enzyme.
