Physical Characteristics of Brazilian Sandy Beaches, systems have a physical range from wave- to tide-dominated and an ecological gradient from equatorial to temperate conditions. This chapter focuses on the range of beach types and states that occur along the Brazilian coast, followed by an assessment of the beaches along Brazil’s seven coastal regions.
