Kopetdagh-Khorassan Flora: Regional Features of Central Kopetdagh,ussed in terms of dynamics and evolution of local flora. Degradation of mountain steppe communities have facilitated dispersal of the foothill sagebrush vegetation upwards, thus creating basis for anthropogenic desertification of mountain landscapes. The role of different taxonomic and trophic groups of animals as well as various problems of conservation are analyzed.
