Animal Models of Diabetes-Induced Neuropathic Pain,diabetes. Diabetic rodents display aspects of sensorimotor dysfunction such as stimulus-evoked allodynia and hyperalgesia that are widely used to model painful neuropathy. This allows investigation of pathogenic mechanisms and development of potential therapeutic interventions that may alleviate established pain or prevent onset of pain.
