This chapter considers the influence of Germany’s Foreign Minister Gustav Stresemann, whose pro-Western stance did much to improve relations with France and the USA, leading ultimately to the Dawes Plan and Locarno Treaties. Germany was admitted to the League of Nations and a period of peace and stability finally prevailed.
