David Hall,Guoray Cai,Jake Graham third method, a calorimetric inspection of particles collected on filters, still is in the stage of development..First measurements at different locations and with various weather conditions show substantial heating rates. Much higher heating rates are expected during the summer months, especially in heavy polluted urban and industrial regions.

Contribution of Tropospheric SO2 to the Stratospheric Aerosol Layereasurements are discussed in the light of improved 1 D models concerning the stratospheric sulfur budget. The results clearly show that tropospheric SO. is of only minor importance for the non-volcanic formation of the stratospheric aerosol.

Investigation on the Saturation-Spectra of Ice-Nucleiomparison of the saturation spectra received from parallel filters showed a good reproducibility. Aerosol-samples were taken in the Swiss Alps and in the environment of Frankfurt/M. and analysed. A constant ratio was found between the slopes of the ice-supersaturation spectra and the respective slopes of the temperature spectra.
