Dynamic AFM in Liquids: Viscous Damping and Applications to the Study of Confined Liquids, is given in the third part. quad In the last part, we have used dynamic AFM to study a simple liquid confined between the cantilever tip and a graphite surface. The results show that the liquid undergoes ordering to layers with a characteristic size given by the molecular diameter.

Nikolay Dronin,Andrei Kirilenkod from the surface provide information about the mechanical properties of the tip apex. In the case of metallic tips, electron transport through the nanocontact also provides information on its mechanical properties, because at the scale of a few atoms forming the nanocontact the mechanical and electron transport properties are strongly related.

Environmental Security in the Arctic Oceanxperiments are presented which enables to identify different stages of crack growth and therefore of fracture behaviour.
