A Temporal Protocol Model for Chronic Disease Management in the PRODIGY Projectit did not include temporal knowledge. Chronic disease management requires an awareness of the progress of a disease and the treatments applied over time. The paper describes the initial stages of development of a new protocol model for PRODIGY, using the Protégé knowledge acquisition tool.

Modelling the Veterinary Diagnostic Process Using Rules and Cases two prototype systems developed were then presented to clinicians at the Royal Veterinary College. The feedback from the clinicians indicated that the CBR approach was more appropriate and also would have value as a teaching aid.
