https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-46065-4The dictionary description of philosophy is given as ‘the love, study, or pursuit of wisdom, or of knowledge of things and their causes, whether theoretical or practical’ (O.E.D.). Therefore it does not seem unreasonable for the layman to suppose that philosophers should be concerned with what ‘it’ is all about.
