Drugs, Crime, and Other Deviant Adaptationsm theory comprises an organized set of observations and concepts that might account for a given process. This is the case for some theories of aging. Other so-called theories of aging could rather be described as detailed observations of the consequences of biological and biochemical processes.

Gangs and Counter-Gang Strategies,f fact, several syndromes secondary to deficiency of these compounds in young subjects show changes that resemble those of senescence. The benefits and the risks of these replacement therapies are being evaluated through in vitro studies, animal studies, short-term neuroendocrine studies in small numbers of subjects, and in large field trials.

Howard B. Kaplan,Kelly R. Damphousser aging mechanisms also operate at the cellular level. Research has focused on how aging affects different types of cells and what intracellular modifications can be observed over time. The findings have profound implications for the theories of aging (Peacocke and Campisi, 1991).

These studies and others carried out in mammalian species illustrate the diversity of the different biological and developmental mechanisms that lead to a longer life span.
