Classroom Managementr directives. Children are told explicitly what needs to be done with clear consequences for disobedience. In both cases, the goal is to create calm classrooms that are conducive to learning. However, the codes of behavior that children learn in school are very similar to the middle-class codes that children will need beyond school.
