Branching processes in stationary random environment: The extinction problem revisiteding that, if . is also finite, then . a.s. holds iff . for some random time .. The use of random times in connection with the stationary environment . will lead us quite naturally to the use of Palm-duality theory in some of our arguments.

Approximation of a sum of martingale differences generated by a bootstrap branching processes critical or nearly critical processes with increasing or stationary immigration and with large or fixed number of initial ancestors. It also includes processes without immigration with increasing random number of initial individuals. Possible applications in estimation theory of branching processes are also be provided.

Griffiths–Pakes branching process as a model for evolution of Alu elementsJurka, with our model shows that the distributions of Alu sequences in the AluY family systematically deviate from the expected distribution derived from the branching process.
