Getting Started,w Visual Studio 2012 is the way to go, really the only way to go! Visual Studio 2010 has no support for the Windows 8 Software Development Kit (SDK ) nor does Windows 7. So we need a machine running Windows 8, not Windows RT, and Visual Studio 2012.

Building an Adaptable App,ery device works only on that particular resolution. No need for us developers to keep different aspect ratios and resolutions in mind! Worst-case scenario, we implemented portrait and landscape modes, and even that is quite easy with the Visual State Manager (I’ll discuss this later in the chapter).

When developing Windows Store apps, the all new Visual Studio 2012 is the way to go, really the only way to go! Visual Studio 2010 has no support for the Windows 8 Software Development Kit (SDK )
